• Who is most likely to receive financial support under the Nickel Incubator project?  The selection of entries is a multi-stage process and ill require that both the inventor and the NTPP management team are fully involved, and expert help. The best suitable projects will be the innovations of biotechnology, IT, building engineering and the ‘green’ technologies that fully meet all the requirements of the competition rules, and that will have successfully passed the entire assessment process from the pre-assessment to the incubation (the capitalization). Additionally, the eligible projects will have to be approved by the Investment Committee and the Polish Agency for Industry Development (PARP).
  • How many entries can be awarded 7 candidates will receive capital support to a maximum Incubator involvement of PLN 800,000 per concept. Additionally, 16 selected entries will receive dedicated consulting support in business, financing, legal, marketing and technology.
  • What should the candidates pay particular attention to? The assessment criteria will include the technical attributes and innovation, development potential, income dynamics, competitiveness towards co-incubating enterprises, estimated ROI, time and cost of ready-to-market development, the managing team and its involvement, as well as the likelihood for receiving copyright protection.
  • How much – in terms of funding – the Incubator will be able to invest in a single entry? Will it be the maximum available amount at all times? The maximum per project sum will be PLN 800,000. However, the maximum support will not be granted to each entry. The amount of funds allocated will subject of the business plan and to the actual financing needs.
  • Do the applicants have to invest their own funds to be eligible for your support? It will not be a prerequisite for attending the programme to include an own share in funding. This matter will be resolved on a project-oriented basis.
  • What are the limitations, if any, concerning the entries? Can any your entrepreneur apply? The entries submitted shall fit the given criteria, i.e. must lay within the areas of biotech, building engineering, green technologies and ICT. However, the Park will welcome any other innovations beyond the above categories. Such entries can be submitted individually and can receive funding with the Park own funds.
  • What will the investment process arranged like and what will be its duration? The entire process, from the entry assessment to the capital feed will take from 6 month up to one year. We expect 3 capital entries in 2011 and another 4 in 2012.
  • What will be NTPP’s share on the future enterprise? What will be the maximum amount that the inventor will have to pay back? See the Competition Terms and Conditions for details, refer to Innovative Economy Operational Programme activity 3.1, according to which the inventor will receive more than 50% share.
