The BIOCONNECT 2012 conference concerned issues related to the interaction between science and business in areas that can be crucial for the further development of the global economy. Representatives of the biotechnology industry had the opportunity to exchange their experiences, views and research results in areas such as drug discovery, bioinformatics, nanobiotechnology and personalized medicine. Conference participants have also learned about business possibilities offered by regenerative medicine, using stem cells and tissue engineering for regeneration of the human body. Scientists, entrepreneurs and students were able to take part in workshops and panel discussions led by world-renowned theorists and practitioners working in the biotechnology industry and Life Science.

Nickel Technology Park Poznań (NTPP) - Poland's first private-owned technology park, founded in 2006 by the Nickel Group – PTB Nickel and Nickel Development. Located in Złotniki, near Poznań and amounting to 33 ha, NTPP was co-funded by The European Regional Development Fund.
